Outsourcing Helps To Speed Up Big Ideas
I got a great piece of insight that can speed up your productivity by 10 or even 100 times. As an entrepreneur I'm pretty much use to doing everything myself. And I have had relativity decent success, over the last 10 years. However, when I look back at how man hours I personally put into building websites, advertising them, and working on a ton of other projects it's shameful!
I say that because so much of that could have been outsourced; and had done faster, better, and cheaper than what my time is really worth.
So in the summer I got reintroduced to the freelancing sites online like: scriptlance, elance, mturk, rentacoder etc etc. And they've been a lifesaver! I've literally increased my productivity by at least 5 times.
Now I mostly just come up with the ideas, the strategies, the plans, blueprints, and how it's all gonna work. Then I put the jobs on the freelancer sites. And get it done fast, good, and especially cheap.
And US dollars go a long ways overseas. For example I hired a guy to do a job of creating a list of 10,000 keywords for $10. He did five of these jobs. Then I thought, "well I just do the next one myself". So I started working on it, and I was getting it done at the rate of about 2000 keywords per hour at best. So it would have taken me 5 hours of work in order to save that ten bucks! So it's a no brainer to outsource. Just wish I would have started using the freelancer sites years ago.
Then I use mturk for little tasks. It works as my online virtual assistant. But it's almost like having a whole army of assistants always online waiting for your next assignment. So if I need to find a specific piece of software I can get it done using the freelancers on mturk for like two bucks. And have 5 to 10 of them go out and find results.
So in regard to "thinking big" well, what I've found is it's easy to think big. But you got to act big too. If you plan to do all the work yourself, chances are you'll never get anywhere fast. Rather you got to act big too. So for example, you don't see Donald Trump at the construction site laying concrete with a hard had on. You have to act big too, and start to learn to outsource so that your think big project can actually come to life.
Anyway it's worked wonders for my business. For example I built a course on how to advertise online. It literally took months to make. It's 300 ways to advertise your business online which I list at: icxpresidents.com But I should have outsourced a lot more of the work of making that course, and I will for any future projects at least. Food for thought. Good luck.
