In this time of bailouts and rescues and daily bad economic news, what about profit? Is the "P" word a dirty one, or is it even more important nowadays?
Profit is not a dirty word at all in my opinion. When one works hard they should enjoy this reward. Profit to me is to achieve both financial and personal rewards in exchange for working hard and doing my best to help others. I also believe in the "paying it forward" practice.
Profit is only a dirty word when one does not deliver what is promised.
Also, when one puts a blindfold over the esyes of those one serves
simply to rob them of the benefits of the service or product that one
delivers. Outside these negatives, profit is indeed fine. Each one of us
profit from the things that we do every day; exercise, professional
development. positive mental atittude, and so on.
Profit is a good thing! Profit is one way in which we measure the success and value of our services.
There is no reason to apologize for making a reasonable profit. I absolutely believe in what I call my 3 Ps: Passion, Purpose and Profit. Passion is the driving force that helps me attain my Purpose . . . and Profit is what allows me to start the cycle again . . . passion is the driving force that helps me attain my Purpose, etc.
Years ago I saw a sign in the window of an old General Store which was located in a "Ghost Town" in Arizona. It read "This is a non-profit business . . . it wasn't meant to be . . . that is just how it goes!
