i.e. I try to add some humor and quirkiness to everything I do...
I speak with deep philosophy and use a irreverent humor, having fun in all I do!
First - define the brand. Based on the needs of those you are appealing to. Then LIVE the promise of your brand.
Mine is about seeking to help people define themselves according to their values and strengths. I live it by constantly seeking to see the strong and good points in others and help them see it for themselves.
I talk a lot about focus/commitment and action - that is part of my brand when moving people forward. Of course, that means I have to do it myself! That means I can share my own experiences at breaking things down into small steps, being accountable to the promises I make to myself, etc. etc.
I think it's about totally consistent. Having everything you do and everything that people see and read about you point to the same thing. A brand is about trust. It's a promise of performance. It's a type of insurance for the customer because it makes them feel safe and secure. It should appeal to your ideal customers and repel or at least have no appeal to those that you are not meant to serve. If you appeal to everyone you appeal to no one. Brands are a shortcut to buying. There are too many products and services out there competing for your attention. You're too busy to spend a week researching which is best. You make a quick decision to buy say a Sony TV, not because it's necessarily the best choice, but because it's a very good, safe, and easy choice.
I'm taking a branding course on the internet and learning about a lot of different techniques to do this. I think I'll probably learn a lot from all of you, too.
Say Lou, Thanx to the Think Big Revolution for introducing the BigIdeasGuy... I have learned a lot from your online video series and ideas from your websites. As a trainer and speaker, I have struggled with the "to Brand or not to Brand" question for some time. From my searching, comments here and there, my conclusion is that it boils down to this....Brand or be Branded. If I think of the ranch the idea of being branded is not appealing at all. So thanx to your insights, Stand 4 your Brand, I am on a Branding Journey! the Sales Mastery Guy www.normanpiche.com
Hey Norman!

Sounds like you're on the right track! You have to decide what you want to be known for, or others will do it for you! (And you may not like how they peg you!)

Cheers,

Lou
A branding journey... I like that.
I use positive words. I have a created a series of designs that are one word on the outside and I mail them to my clients, friends and family. For special people and/or occations, I use metallic envelopes... the recipient loves them!

hi lou
To help my business create a stream of revenue while building.... I am going to create 1 to 4 minute video using animoto software and my personal video/photo images from local events that I already cover to make personalized coverage available.

Initial approach to appeach to " cool to feel like a star" factor but there are other practical applications.
Question is what is a fair price and what are some thoughts to maximize value.
in this example.
A guy like you were already say covering a local event.
You are already being paid to take footage from company A
Individual B says hey keep an eye on what Im doing while you work and tomorrow I want 40 clean pictureson dvd and 4 minute video video presentation that B will use for personal reasons .What is fair perceived value of this service?

Thanks for any help and I just started receiving your free video newsletters.Eddie
