The World's First Coaching App for Professional Coaches

The idea for the MyCoachMax Coaching Application sprung from the emerging need for the coaches at BLG Partners to efficiently service large scale coaching contracts & manage all of BLG Partners coaching clients. Word documents, journal entries, and post it notes were no longer working. There were so many meetings, assessments and commitments but no way to effectively manage it all, quickly access old notes and assessments, and share all of this with clients. Additionally, we continued to strive to grow our business and more rapidly close deals with potential clients. We found it very tedious and often ineffective to merely tell potential clients that coaching was the answer for them because they saw no obvious or measurable ROI for coaching. Coaching results were just too ambiguous and coaching was too expensive for many people/companies to say yes to; at all, quickly, or repeatedly. We knew this could be a huge turning point for our business if we could measure coaching and provide our clients with more tangible results. We started to research possible solutions. We found a few online applications, but none of them could do exactly what we wanted. Some had too much functionality (The Coaching Console) and were built to manage every facet of the coaching business, and some didn't have enough (Noomii & MindBloom) and were built for life coaches. We needed something more focused on professional coaching than Noomii yet simpler and less cumbersome than The Coaching Console.

We were eventually introduced to Captura in Dallas, and quickly realized these were the people to help us build our own application tailored to our needs with our clients. The guys at Captura introduced us to 37signals apps like backpack and campfire. We quickly saw the genius in these apps, but saw that they didn’t meet our needs either. We hired Captura to implement our ideas into the Alpha version of MyCoachMAX and we are now able to effectively manage all of our interactions securely online with a web-hosted app that has all of the functionality we need.

Next, we started talking to our personal coaching friends around the globe about what we had built. We quickly realized that there is a need for MyCoachMAX outside of our business. Over the past few months, we have been talking to coaches and gathering ideas. We are now almost finished with the Beta version and in the process of adding a front end website to the app and adding a payment gateway to give access to the world.
