Fear & Mistakes

Fear is an emotion we have all experienced. Mistakes are something we all make. There is nothing wrong with fear and there is nothing wrong with you if you make mistakes. But when fear and mistakes operate together, problems arise. To be more specific, the fear of making mistakes is problematic.            Every core emotion serves a purpose. We don’t have emotions just so they can annoy us or get in our way. Emotions help us recognize our needs and motivate us to get those needs…See More

Profile Information

What do you want to think bigger about?
I want to think bigger about my private practice as an addiction counselor. More specifically, I help individuals overcome sexual addictions, but one of the biggest problems people with addictions have is feeling safe being themselves. My larger vision is to help people learn what it means to be fully self-expressed, particularly among people with addictions. I enjoy public speaking and would also like to think bigger about reaching larger audiences.
What other big thinkers do you find influential?
Michael Port; Ramit Sethi; Casey Truffo, Dr. Wayne Dyer; John Bradshaw
How has the The Think Big Manifesto influenced you?
It works on an emotional level to help me cast aside the unhealthy scripts that frequently pass through my mind. It helps me to feel inspired and basically, to think bigger.

An acquaintance of mine has a friend in the U.K. whose career involves working to relieve the pain and suffering of people that have gone home to die. My acquaintance posted an article on Facebook his friend wrote about the top five regrets she sees in common with the dying patients she helps. Granted, this is…

Do Your Emotions Make You Weak?

Generally speaking, people are highly conflicted about their emotions. So often, it can seem like we have a love-hate relationship with them. What was your initial answer to the title of this article? Did you answer yes or no? Chances are, you did not feel 100% behind your…

You Are Incomparable and Irreplaceable

For those of you that have had the chance to work with me, you may know the passion I have to root out toxic shame wherever it exists in individuals and in culture. Toxic shame is like a dark cloud that is invisible to the eyes, yet darkens the mind in the most subtle and deceptive ways. It…

Welcome to the Think Big Revolution!

I just wanted to quickly reach out and say hello and welcome you to the group. We are so excited that you have joined the meeting place for big thinkers.

Feel free to post here anytime, but we do request that you keep your posts related to the forum.

Please make a note that every Tuesday we have our Think Big Member Meeting Calls, and you can join us here for those:

Conference Line: 267-507-2796

Conf ID: 517671#

Quick Reminder of the TBR Rules:

1.       You must use your real name.  We are non-anonymous and it works.  Big thinkers don’t hide behind pseudonyms or pseudo-personas.

2.       You must include a picture (a real one of your actual face).  This is a new rule as too many members have been letting this go.

3.       When you write manifesto posts there is no pitching, no selling, no politics.  We stay on topic of thinking big and helping others do the same.  Manifest posts are moderated because too many people saw this site primarily as an opportunity for self-promotion.

Thank you and please let us know if you should have any questions.

Thanks!

Elizabeth
