The Think Big Revolution

Clean Language is a set of questions asked in a particular way to help people gain clarity. It was devised by David Grove to help questioners to keep their assumptions to themselves so the other person can really concentrate on, and challenge their own thoughts. This, in turn, leads to new insights and different actions.

The questions are mostly ordinary, everyday questions, for example:
- Is there anything else about that?
- What kind of ... is that?
- Then what happens?
- What needs to happen?
- How do you know ... ?
- Is there a relationship between ... and ... ?

What is different about them is that the " ... " represents the thinker's own words. Apart from the questions themselves, the thinker does not add any words of their own to the conversation. This allows the thinker to really consider what they have just said. And if the words they have used to describe their experience are metaphorical, having their attention directed to them can help reveal the deep structure of their thinking. It's an incredibly powerful process.
