The Think Big Revolution

Remember tossing around the word "vision" in professional writings? I do. I have used it to describe some leader, or to introduce a speaker, or sometimes just because I couldn't think of what other term to use. But I have now learned that there is more to this "vision" thing than I thought.

Successful people have vision. They have the ability to see what they want in their mind's eye and actually experience it, before it manifests. That powerful feature exists in all of us, whether we are using it or not. In order to think BIG, we must be able to imagine or vision the "BIG-ness" we would like to have, do or become. There is more to vision than the platitudes of having to see to achieve. Vision is that intangible gift that shows itself as the power of the human mind. Holding a vision changes attitudes, physiology, psychology and every other aspect of the dreamer's existence. And more often than not, the vision leads to action and positive reinforcement of the vision----or more action. Soon, things change. Events change. Chance meetings happen. So-called coincidences occur. All leading to the fruition of the dream or the manifestation of the vision.

The other aspect of vision is in the breadth and depth of its reach. The nature of vision as I have seen it in action, is the ability to see beyond time and space. Someone imagined flying before the airplane existed. Others imagined penicillin, automobiles, indoor plumbing, refrigeration...and on...and on...

It seems that sight is finite, while vision is infinite. We dream it, mentally create it, look beyond the limits of time and space for it----and there it is... our vision incarnate.

Now that I have lived long enough to observe and experience real vision, I am a bit more careful in the ways in which I use the word.
