How to make the most of your video marketing strategy
Whether you’re just dipping your toes in the water with Online Video, or you’re diving in to video to maximize your visibility, credibility and profitability with video, we can help! Here’s a quick-start guide to help you get your video online – along with a few more ideas for leveraging your video…
1. Getting your video online
YouTube.com is a great place to use as your video “hub,” because it’s user-friendly and it’s free! You can host your video on YouTube and share it from there.
First, take your video movie file and upload it to YouTube. (Need additional tutorials on uploading to YouTube? Just visit
www.YouTubeFast.com. Step-by-step video demos explain the entire process!)
YouTube provides you with “embed code.” All you have to do is copy and paste that html code into your own website or blog, and now the video will be on your own site.
Then take the URL link that YouTube provides for your video, and you can send the link in an email, use the URL in your ezine or newsletter, and promote your YouTube link on Twitter and other social networks.
Finally, use YouTube’s built in “share” functions to send your video to
Facebook and/or
MySpace with one click of the mouse!
2. Additional venues for your video
Want to leverage your video visibility and share your video to additional video hosting sites? It’s easy (and free) with
TubeMogul.com. Once you decide which video hosting sites you want to use, just sign up for a free account with those sites. Popular video hosting sites include
Vimeo.com,
Viddler.com,
Dailymotion and
Blip.tv. (The list is endless!)
After you’ve got your video sites lined up, TubeMogul remembers your log-in details, and blasts your video out for you. Now you can send your video to dozens of video hosting sites with one click!
Aside from TubeMogul, there are paid services such as HeySpread.com and TrafficGeyser. However, it’s always best to start with the low or no-cost options.
If you did not share your video to your
Facebook account via YouTube, you can upload your movie directly to Facebook with just a few clicks. Facebook can be a very effective way to spread your video message among your friends, fans and followers.
Finally, be sure to promote your video on
Twitter. You can share the link on Twitter via YouTube, or you can simply “tweet” the link to your video. Other “Twitter-friendly” video sites are also popping up, including Tweetube.com, Twiddeo.com and TwitVid.com.
3. Other uses for your online video:
• Use your movie as a “welcome video” for your website home page
• Use your video as a promotional message for your product or services – online or offline!
• Utilize as a promotional video for YouTube and other popular video hosting sites
• Send your video as a brand or image-building video for distribution to your list via email
• Share your video message on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace and more
• Use your online video as a video “squeeze” page to build your database and email list
• Create a “how-to” demo or tutorial to share your area of expertise with your prospects
