The Think Big Revolution

On Monday November 14th 2011, during my stay in the Courtyard  Mariott Hotel in Coconut Grove in Miami, Florida, I did the Matt Furey exercise bible (deck of cards) in my hotel room. I did the whole entire deck. (54) cards. It was a struggle, but gratefully, I've completed the whole deck. These cards consists of four exercises: Hindu push- ups, Hindu squats, table makers, and v-ups. To learn more about these exercises, go to mattfurey.com.

It took me about thirty minutes to do the whole deck. I counted every rep on every single card. Matt Furey is right when he said "those who count are more focused than those who don't." He has written a whole chapter about this in his book entitled Expect To Win Hate To Lose. When I counted my repetitions, my mind was razor sharp focused. This level of focus strengthen my mind/body connection because I had a goal I expected to achieve, and that was to complete the whole deck of cards, and raise my clinched fists in the air indicating another victory over myself. Even though I was tired, my muscles were aching, and my lungs were  screaming, I was still able to go and push through the pain. I was grateful for the intestinal fortitude to finish the whole entire deck of cards. The next time I do the deck of cards again, I expect to do these exercises on these cards much better than the previous time.

You see, champions don't let pain rule them. They feel the pain, and proceed anyway. Lance Armstrong said: "Pain is temporary, quitting last forever." Rising above the pain involves making a choice to be a champion instead of a chump. In your training - when things get tough, when the desire to give up starts to set in, and even when the pain takes over, refocus on your goal, and drive yourself further. Once you refocus on your goal, you will find that your training regimen becomes less painful, and much easier because your mind is quiet, and relaxed. Make the decision to push through the pain, and rise above it.

Well. That is all that I have for today. Thank you for reading these very powerful words.
