In life, curve balls get thrown at you. People don't always keep their promises, deals get broken, contracts don't always go through, checks get delayed, people loose their jobs for no particular reason I.E. Holly Robinson Peete, and Leah Remini - former co-host of the talk show entitled 'The Talk.' Professional Athletes get cut from the team whether its in football, basketball, or baseball. Just like the ocean, life can change up on us. Sometimes you just never know what direction life will turn.
I want to talk to you about my plane ride I flew with American Airlines non-stop flight from Philadelphia International to Miami International that took place on Saturday November 12th 2011 at 1:25pm. Unfortunantly, the experience was pretty bad. After I successfully made it through security, I waited patiently for my flight. I ordered a small coffee, and a chocolate muffin. I then pulled out my blackberry cellphone and facebooked the hell out of everybody about my visit to miami - my future hometown. It was about an hour and a half wait. We were scheduled to board the plane one half hour before take off. Since my flight was at 1:25pm, we started boarding the plane at 12:55pm. We boarded the plane by groups. I.E. Group #1 Group #2 Group #3. I was in group three. As soon after I boarded the plane, I caught a very bad headache. I expected to sit by the window. I could have sworn that I've chosen the window seat while I made my reservation. I ended up sitting in aisle # 12c. I was angery as hell! I wanted to switch seats but unfortunantly, I was not allowed to. I sat next to this Latin couple. I sat next to the latin guy while his girlfriend sat next to the window. Everytime I looked out the window where she sat, this guy's big - ass head kept getting in the way. He knew I wanted to look out the window I know he did! I felt like telling him to get the hell out the way! I guess he thought I was trying to check out his girlfriend or something. Nobody was thinking about her. At least I wasn't. The plane ride lasted two hours twenty minutes. After we landed, my headache started back up and gotten worst. I left the plane dejected because of my headache. Plus, I did not sit by the window like I thought I requested when I made my reservation. I wanted to see the wonder of nature close up. I saw what I was able to see from the aisle seat I sat in. People were bumping into me while passing by me. It was not intentional. It was just narrow inside the plane thats all. Afterwards, I took the skytrain to the baggage claim and the airport exit (station #2 D20)
Thankfully I was able to adapt, and remain flexible even though it was painful as hell. Instead of letting this bad experience eat at me, I used this as a learning experience to make things that don't go well to work for me. And I encourage you to do the same.
Well. That is all that I have for today. This blog has been posted by me from my Courtyard Mariott Hotel room in Coconut Grove Miami Florida. Thank you for reading these very powerful words.
