The Think Big Revolution

Michael Port

We can do more with less than we think

Our core is that part of us that can never be destroyed no matter what is done to us. We can be beaten and tortured, tormented by others. We can lose everything we own. We can lose the love of our life. But there is a part inside of each of us that cannot be taken away. It is our core and it is rich and abundant.

Nelson Mandela endured as much as any person can, and yet, after more than a quarter of a century behind bars, he emerged with a spirit of love and forgiveness. There could be no better model of the power of the core of a person to preserve its abundance, even in times of unimaginable scarcity. And that is what it means to think big. It is to understand that we need nothing except that which is inside each of us. We don’t need more to do more. We can do more with less. The only thing we need is to know our core.

Thinking big is to be not the person prescribed by history, by society, or by the invisible panel of pseudopeers who contrive to rule through conformity. When you are thinking big, you simply are. You know the why of what you do. You walk the talk, always truthward-bound. To be truly revolutionary is to be radically transparent. You are a person turned inside out, your core rendered visible.

Thanks Michael. I find your writing inspiring. We all go through moments in our lives when it helps to be reminded of what we are really here to be, and it´s so much easier than we imagine; though we are so programmed to not truly confide in the core power, beauty, and creativity inside ourselves, waiting to be acknowledged to it´s full potential. Life´s simple joy´s can allude us as we slide away from ourselves bit by bit. But, then an inspiring letter from you. Thanks!!! I´m reminded that I´m infinately rich in the most overwhelmingly rewarding and beautiful ways!! Yeah!!!

From this core comes our "Voice." And it is being sure that our actions reflect our voice that ensures others feel the impact we most desire & intend.

Someone once said: "The gnarled tree is proof that nature is imperfect"

I prefer to believe that the tree is gnarled because nature is perfect!

Anne, You asked "what is coming between me and my unvarnished truth..." perhaps it is not so much about being PURE or UNVARNISHED as it is simply BEING YOU.

What if your view of what 'IT' must look like is not true?
What if who you already reflect your core?
What if imperfection 'IS' what makes you so amazing?

Mother Teresa ALWAYS knew there would be enough! It wasn't a point of concern, it was a fact.

When pushed Anne I'm guessing there are boundaries or actions or choices you simply will not accept as something you must choose against...notice those moments.

Instead of seeing the deception and asking the question 'is this it' you simply took the action, made the choice that you feared most, trusting the outcome is one you can handle, what if?

The clues maybe in your words, instead of striving in 'ALL' interactions, just trust and when you find the inner "click" take notice of not of the click, rather the feeling, your experience and remember that's what it feels like when you ARE at your best.

Then relax at best we as humans do things imperfectly!

Outside distractions can easily chip away at the surface, but the core can only be breached with permission.

Michael, I find your statement "When you are thinking big, you simply are," liberating. Thinking big is not additive it is at the core of our being. To reach the core you dig deeper into whom you are.
Matthew Fox, Episcopal priest, theologian and founder of the Creation Spirituality mystical movement writes of the word "radical," which you menetioned in your article. He says that "radical" is related to the word "radish," which comes from the Latin "rādīx" which means "root." When we are "radically transparent" we are at the root of our being which is the truth of who we are. Thanks for that.

Victor Frankl, Mother Teresa - we are in good company today my friends! Not to mention Doug Miller and this Michael Port guy!!! Of course there's always Austin Powers who thought he lost his Mojo but discovered that he had it all along. Imagine who or what you will attract into your life today with your magical mojo.
